A graduate member of the Tomahawk High School Class of 1986, participating all four years in football, basketball, track, and baseball.
Greg 'Thumper' earned three letters in football, two in basketball, four in track, and two in baseball. He also earned eight All Conference honors. He was Second Team All Conference in football as a senior, but it was in track where Greg left his mark.
As a freshman, Greg was a member of the 1600 Meter Relay team that placed first, making the team First Team All Conference, and he was All Conference Honorable Mention in the 400 Meter Dash. In the 300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles, he was Second Team All Conference as a sophomore, and First Team All Conference as a junior. As a senior, Thumper was First Team All Conference in the 300 Intermediate Hurdles, Second Team All Conference in the Triple Jump, and he was a member of the 1600 Meter Relay team that was All Conference Honorable Mention. Greg highlighted his high school career by being a member of the 1600 Meter Relay team that placed third at state his senior year.
Greg was an important part of several teams that had great success. Greg was a member of the 1984 football team that was conference co-champions, 1983 track team that was regional and sectional champions, 1985 track team that was regional champions, and 1985 baseball team that was regional champions, sectional champions, and state qualifiers.
After graduation, Greg attended UW-Stevens Point for two years and ran track for a brief period. He then went to work at Lincoln Hills, owned his own business, and worked at Louisiana Pacific Corporation before deciding to serve his country by enlisting in the military. Greg is now working as a United States Army Military Analyst.
