Steve Liberty
Steve Liberty A graduate member of the Tomahawk High School Class of 1990, participating in track, golf, baseball, football, and basketball.

Steve earned thirteen letters which included four in track, three in golf, two each in baseball, football, and basketball. In track his junior year, he was Second Team All Conference in the 100 Meter and All Conference Honorable Mention in the 200 Meter. During his senior year, Steve earned Second Team All Conference honors in both the 100 Meter and 400 Meter. He concluded his track career by placing third his senior year at state in the 100 Meter Dash and he also was part of the 1600 Meter Relay team that placed fifth. Steve was named All Conference Honorable Mention in baseball his senior year. He also received All Conference Honorable Mention his junior year and Second Team All Conference his senior year in football. Additional honors included making a new school record of 11.2 seconds in the 100 Meter Dash, and winning the Bill Stiff Sportsmanship Award, Hustle Award, and Attitude Award in football.

After high school, Steve attended UW-Eau Claire for one and a half years before joining the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, Steve was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He graduated from the Great Lakes Naval School and was presented a letter of appreciation for his performance as a peer tutor and maintaining a 95% GPA. He then went to Gordon, Connecticut for submarine school and also graduated with distinction and achieved the highest academic average.

Adding to his outstanding Navy career, Ensign Liberty will now attend and complete Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport, Rhode Island. With the support of his wife, Anne and daughters, Brittany and Megan, Steve will serve his first tour as an officer aboard the USS Gunston Hall based in Little Creek, Virginia.
