A graduate member of the Tomahawk High School Class of 1963 participating in football, basketball, track and baseball.
Tom earned nine letters and was a four time all conference athlete. Tom played football for three years and was selected as Honorable Mention All Conference his senior year. He played basketball for four years and was First Team All Conference his senior year as he helped his team to a Conference Championship. Tom played baseball his freshmen year before trying out and excelling at track. During his junior year, he was First Team All Conference in the pole vault and placed fifth at State by clearing a height of 11'6". His senior year in track saw him repeat at the First Team All Conference in the pole vault which helped his team to a track Conference Championship. Then, he proceeded to complete his career with a State title in the pole vault at 12'3 1/2". This was Tomahawk's second straight individual state title.
Additionally, Tom was a member of the band and music festival all four years, student council his sophomore year, lettermen's club his sophomore year, lettermen's club his junior and senior year, and class president as a senior while graduating number eight in his class.
Since 1968, Tom has been a clinical pharmacist for UW Hospitals in Madison where he lives with his wife Debbie. Their family includes a son, Anthony.
