Kim (Derleth) Posniak
Kim (Derleth) Posniak A graduate member of the Tomahawk High School Class of 1998, active in volleyball, boys’ hockey, and softball.

Kim’s high school athletic honors included two letters in volleyball, three in boys’ hockey, and four in softball. In addition, she was awarded All Conference Honorable Mention in volleyball her senior year, All Conference Honorable Mention as a senior in boys’ hockey, and three-time All Conference in softball.

Kim received the Matt Kahle Award for outstanding performance on and off the ice in boys’ hockey. She was defensive player of the year as a junior in softball, and co-defensive player of the year in softball her senior year. She was also a member of the Tomahawk High School Athletic Club, winner of the Bill Fischer Outstanding Female Athlete Award, Don Dorski Senior Scholar Athlete Award as well as being a scholar athlete all four years of high school. Kim was very active as a student life guard, a Tomahawk swim club coach, and an instructor at the DCE hockey camp.

After high school, Kim attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she competed in both ice hockey and softball. In ice hockey, she was named to the ECAC Division 2 All-Tournament Team and earned Honorable Mention recognition on the ECAC All-Star Team. On the softball diamond, Kim was a starter at third base and had an impact on the team’s success. Because of her efforts, Kim was honored as Rookie of the Year at Sacred Heart University
